STRAIGHT MACKIN ON A BEACH

Here's what's strange about the business of fashion, this Marie Claire beach shoot debuted in the April issue [which means it came out in March]. I don't know about you all but, I wasn't thinking beach in April. I was pondering cute Easter ensembles and lightweight jackets. So often you can barely experience a season's actual weather before the business has a whole new set of products to sell to you... One could also comment that the model wearing  chunky gold jewelry on the beach is unrealistic as well but, I would have to disagree. I definitely got in the water last week with all my links on : P.

THE BEST THING SINCE THE MOVIE

Yes, The Sex and the City 2 BOOK. Sounds a little fanatical, right? But, check this out...

The book breaks down almost every look Carrie wears and every key look the others ladies don.
Tell me that doesn't wipe away any preconceived corny notion of the book you had in your head!
Here are some of my favorite ensembles' details....

I can't get enough of this racer back necklace by Low Luv

The girls change so quickly in the desert, you barely got to see how tough these jeans are,  so here's a closer look

I was so off on my callouts of Carrie's camel outfit. For the record...

Open skirt over jeans, genius

the infamous Vintage Valentino Skirt Scene.
the L'Wren Scott blouse is nothing I would want to stain either btw

When asked how she was going to top herself next, Patricia Field, Movie Stylist, replied "... that is not my reality at all. If I had some kind of consciousness of other people's expectations, it would freeze me up and make me miserable and not allow me to be creative and have fun with it. I would be worrying about what everybody else thinks, and that is not part of the process for me."

THE SUMMER OF LOVE

The love is love, love summer collection is here and it totally feels like I'm birthing my love child with fashion... again [my oldest child being The Signature Varsity Jacket Collection]. This is the line's first lookbook featuring six new READY-TO-WEAR styles and 1 new summertime varsity jacket. Each and every piece is available now at loveislovelove.bigcartel.com.

This summer the tank top, a warm weather must-have, gets some love. It is reinvented to be edgy, sexy, playful, and practical all at once in three different ways. As always each style is comprised of only the highest quality materials. The list of luxurious fabrics include silk jacquard, crepe de chine, and charmeuse, a super soft, super slinky viscose rayon, a cotton/lycra slub knit, and corduroyed lambskin. Everything is still handcrafted in BK and made especially for the ladies with body.

The Draped Muscle Tank was inspired by its amazing fabrication. The ethnic mesh burnout effortlessly adds interest to the athletic racer back silhouette.

The One Piece Tank, available in black and coral [the best summer color in the world], appears to look like your average long knit tank at first glance, and that's dope because who can't use a long, solid tank in the summer? But, a closer look reveals a sexy Brazilian bikini line filled in with sheer fabric.

The Long Camisole, available in Crème de la Crème, Cherry Bomb, and Black Giraffe, was designed for women that move through different environments. It can be tucked into a suit and worn with heels or untucked and worn over jeans with sneakers. The split back with hook and eye closures allow the option to wear it open or closed. Each colorway’s fabrication walks the line between sophistication and playfulness.

The Caramel Featherweight Varsity is the warm weather installment to the brand’s signature Made to Measure Varsity Jacket Collection. Ultra lightweight, textured lambskin sleeves and a stretch cotton sateen body are the perfect combination to shield you from overzealous air conditioners and late night drafts this summer.

This season DIMEPIECE took the lookbook game to the next level layering special effects on top of special effects over amazing styling over provocative designs on top of special effects... Did I mention they used sick special effects? Here's a few snaps of the lookbook, but to get the true effect, check the website.

RIHANNA: ELLE MAGAZINE'S JULY COVER GIRL

The two tonality  draws me into this cover. Her hair, the dress, the shades of purple.

I'm really feeling behind the scenes video footage of photo shoots. They give you a chance to see the rest of a look that may have been cropped out of a photo and get a feel for the subjects vibe.

NYCKED

Jules Kim [of Bijules] and Lorenzo Martone [ Marc Jacob's hubby] collaborated to form the new New York swimwear line: NYCKED. The match is so random, it's right. Kim is known for her boundary-pushing jewelry and Martone is known to be surrounded by high style. Together, this could mean magic. Their Summer look book was shot by Brooke Nipar. The suits are cute, the girls are very skinny. No info on where the line is sold just yet...
