THE SOUND TRACK TO MY CREATIVITY

"Do you know your girlfriend is a bird?"

Incontrary to the reviews, I think My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is incredible!!!
I'm enjoying everything from his word play, to choice of featured artists, right down to the art direction.

KARL KARL KARL

A recent interview with Karl Lagerfeld from The Luxury Channel reminded of a few recent projects he has lent his likeness to each with a touch of luxury.

THE BEST THING SINCE THE MOVIE

Yes, The Sex and the City 2 BOOK. Sounds a little fanatical, right? But, check this out...

The book breaks down almost every look Carrie wears and every key look the others ladies don.
Tell me that doesn't wipe away any preconceived corny notion of the book you had in your head!
Here are some of my favorite ensembles' details....

I can't get enough of this racer back necklace by Low Luv

The girls change so quickly in the desert, you barely got to see how tough these jeans are,  so here's a closer look

I was so off on my callouts of Carrie's camel outfit. For the record...

Open skirt over jeans, genius

the infamous Vintage Valentino Skirt Scene.
the L'Wren Scott blouse is nothing I would want to stain either btw

When asked how she was going to top herself next, Patricia Field, Movie Stylist, replied "... that is not my reality at all. If I had some kind of consciousness of other people's expectations, it would freeze me up and make me miserable and not allow me to be creative and have fun with it. I would be worrying about what everybody else thinks, and that is not part of the process for me."

IT'S ALMOST HERE

SEX AND THE CITY 2

While my extended absentance has left many things to catch up on, it is undeniable the most pertinent thing to discuss is the looming release of The Sex and the City Movie Sequel. It's everywhere! Buses covered with the movie stills, the news is counting down it's release and department stores are pushing promotions. The A-list premiere in NY was last night. She is has a touching review of the amostphere and the movie. The Film will be released nationally this Thursday, May 27th, but I think I'm going to hold out until my birthday June 1st [mark it on your calender], to sit and luxuriate in the fabulousity of it all.

Like I commented after viewing the trailer, Samantha's gear has me the most excited. Her zany yet provocative style seems to have reached a new level haute individualism.  I hope all her good looks weren't waisted in the previews! I'm in love with the Chanel cap with the head cape she is wearing in the above pics. Plus the encrusted canteen on the hip. Only Samantha could find the proper occasion to pull off such a piece. Charlotte's outfit reads "I just paid too much for American Apparel pieces", so I'm going to move on... I'm feeling Carrie's head wrap with the sash and then the gauzey shirt over the white draped evening gown. Total modern twist on the iconic middle eastern silhouette, but I need to see the feet to know if I love the look for sure. I'm actually also feeling Miranda's ensemble, sometimes Pat Field does Miranda dirty on the style tip [but the style snags totally fit Miranda's character]. What really sets M-Daddy's outfit off: That orange cape- so ridiculous it's right.

JUST BECAUSE A PERSON GOT ON "THIS" WAY DOESN'T MEAN THAT YOU'RE GONNA GET ON THE SAME WAY

That may not be your path, Maestro Knows...

Levi Maestro, the man behind MaestroKnows.com, stoped by Raphael Saadiq's, "Blakeslee Studios", to talk with TONE about originality and the reason why he started his website.

After hearing his inspiring point of view on self motivation, I had to see what he was working with and what was the first video I happened to click on? His piece in NYC with Complex Mag fashion director Anoma Ya Whittaker.

Just an average day for a humble dude and a hard working girl, eh?

S I T C I I MOVIE TRAILER

From the looks of it, Samantha has the illest wardrobe and Carrie's going to get herself in trouble...

FIRST PEAKS: SITC 2

Sex In The City II is filming, papo's are snapping, and we are loving.
As always the style is on point.  I especially love P. Fields quirky outfits [her attire is clearly that of a styling master mind] and I adore the pics of Big and Carrie.  I can just imagine what their story lines are...
partricia fields denim is crazy [in a good way] with studding at the hem

not sure how I feel about a woman Carrie's age wearing a mid-drift...

but the shoes make it all alright
note the necklaces on p fiddy's t shirt are actually metal pallets
helloooo cutie
"let's be honest..."
straight dreamy

New Chris Rock Documentary

Chris Rock adds laughter to the very serious conversation of black women and their hair. African American Female cultural influencers Mya Angelo, Nia Long, Salt N' Pepper, Raven Simone, Megan Good, Karen Steffens, and Lauren London all sit down to talk about the extreme measures they take to have what is considered "good hair".  Even better Chris Rock talks to men about how they take care of their long locks (I have witnessed some crazy man hair care routines) and what it's like to be with women so concerned with their mane.

My favorite quotes from the movie so far:
"Creamy Crack"
"Weave sex is a little awkward...."
"So you can lay-a-way the weave?"
Anything Paul Mooney might say

Want a foundation on the controversy surrounding "Good Hair" before seeing  Chris Rock's movie?

The September Issue New York Premiere

The widely acclaimed and highly anticipated film documenting the inner workings of Vogue premiered last night,  August 19th, at the MoMA. While all September Issues of Vogue are a big deal, the documentary specifically chronicled the making of the publication's record breaking 2007 September edition. Weighing 4 pounds, the primer fall magazine yielded the highest ad revenue in Vogue history and sold thirteen million copies. With that said, you know they were not half stepping at the door. Attendees were prompt and the creme de la creme of the fashion industry. No drunk pop stars over here!

Anna Wintour, Vogue Editor-in-Chief, and Siena Miller, September 2007 Cover girl, arrived together 15 minutes early.
Anna's daughter, Bee, had to remind her to put her stunna' shades on for the red carpet.

Anna & Donna (Karan).
I love Donna.  She is always tanned with a relaxed yet sophisticated look.
Oh Donna.

Grace Coddington, Vogue Creative Director, and R.J. Cutler, the film's director.
Although Anna Wintour's name is in the title, word on street is that Mrs. Grace was the strongest character in the documentary.

Totally off topic: Doesn't this photo remind you of those department store portraits you used to get back in the day with your family?

Vogue staffers were forced to wear Fashion's Night Out t shirts at the event. (Brutal)

Former Vogue Editor and Designer, Vera Wang

Model Karlie Kloss and Designer Jason Wu

Killer Jason Wu look

Chanel Iman and Chris Smith

Designer Vets: Carolina Herrera and Oscar De la Renta

Marc Jacobs and boyfriend, Lorenzo Martone.

Jessica Joffe and Maggie Betts.  No idea who they are, but don't they look bad ass?
I think it's Maggie's lean and the strappy heels.

Peter Som and his handy lady

Phillip Lim

Melania Tump
I love her gaze, purr

Maybelline Models.
Loving the moss and yellow gold.

Lauren Remington Platt in an adorable dress.

Designer, Richard Chai (Hot)

Recording artists, Ashford and Simpson, and Vogue Editor-at-Large, Andre Leon Tally

Cassy, Diddy and Zac Posen
