After refining their male look, it was only right they do it for the ladies. I appreciate the artfully exploded graphics referring to their patterned heritage. Cut and sew pieces are a little flat but trend right and well styled.

LAST PEEKS OF WINTER 2011

Everybody's so excited to be rid of this long, cold NY winter, but (it wasn't that long and) I'm never really ready for a new season. There's always a few more pieces I wanted to buy, design, or, most of all, blog about! With that said here's what I think will be our last peek of winter 201l, a few images from a Grazia Italy editorial entitled Vivere Slow.

A little dated, as his 2011 collection recently debuted, but I couldn't let the season pass without shining some light on his playful blend of lux grunge and 50's suiting.

DR LOVE

The third, and most colorful, installment from the Dr Romanelli  X  A Love Movement collaboration.

The pieced patterns of each style cleverly coordinate with the back tag lines. The colorful stripes clearly match the "CHASE RAINBOW" text, but I think the wittiest piece is the vest with the pin stripes and the words "INVEST NOW" on the back. Every suit in Wall Street needs one.  The witty repartee continues in the patches. Besides being ridiculously funny, they are a sign of design opulence. Sportswear seldom produces trims that can only be used for one style in a collection. Here, patches are custom quoted for each style. So cool and totally worth what ever they are selling them for.
