Lisa Lyon is known for her androgynous beauty in the 1980's. Her physical and artistic success is the result of her limitless mindset, never thinking in terms of black or white, male or female. In 1979 she won 1st place in the IFBB Women's World Pro Body Building Championship, naturally. Without drugs of any type she was able to increase her muscle mass to that of a man while maintaining delicate feminine traits. Photographer, Robert Mapplethorpe gravitated to her chiseled, womanly physique and together they collborated on visual concepts that broke class and gender boundries.

2010 GOLDEN GLOBES STYLE :FLESH TONES AND OLD DOLLS DID IT FOR ME

Surprisingly, red carpet queens and black dresses were not my favorites at the 2010 Golden Globes. Instead, award show regulars SHINED in flesh tones and Hollywood's old dolls showed us how to age gracefully.

My all night favorite dress was the silver sequined, peach Versace number Christina Aguillera donned

deeee-lisious!

 

My second favorite was the  Marchesa dress Kate Hudson wore with a pair of Casadei 3504 triple platform pumps. The chest to toe white is almost too bridal,but the volume and asymetry provide just enough edge for the red carpet.

As I age, I progressively become more of a girlie girl. First it was crying over movies, then babies became irresistibly cute and now I'm looking at wedding dresses! Well if I'm going to be a stereotypical woman, I'm at least going to have good taste. Right now I'm looking into the designer that did Pink's dress [when she wed Carey Hart],  Monique Lhuillier. Her Fall 2010 [that's right I just jumped almost a year ahead] is divine with lace, satin, and volume in all the right places.
